What Causes Belly Fat?
One of the primary causes of loose belly fat building up around the abdominal area is the excessive consumption of refined carbohydrates and sugar.
A stressful and hectic lifestyle will also contribute to excess belly fat. Stress produces Cortisol and Cortisol stimulates the production of fat in the body, and around the belly is where you find the highest amount of Cortisol receptors.
Menopause causes stress, and guess what? More fat is stored in the abdominal area in women during menopause.
Slow functioning digestive organs; with age and abuse our metabolism starts to slow down causing the accumulation of fat on the body organs and under the skin including the belly.
There are many more causes like eating late at night, beer and soda drinking, poor posture, lack of exercise and physical activity, sleep deprivation and hormonal imbalances.
